Mechanisms of Adolescents'Sensation Seeking Influence on Learning Burnout in Online Learning Environments
Learning burnout not only affects adolescents'academic achievement, but can also lead to serious psychological or behavioral problems such as academic procrastination, negative emotions, sleep disorders, and even suicide.Does teenage sensation seeking affect learning burnout? And how does it affect learning burnout?Based on the"person-environment"fit theory, the paper explores the influence of sensation seeking on learning burnout and the role of short-form video overuse and anxiety in it,and constructs a structural equation model through a survey of 1,563 middle school students. The study found that the higher the level of sensation seeking, the higher the degree of learning burnout; Both short-form video overuse and anxiety can play separate mediating roles in the relationship between sensation-seeking and burnout, and play a chain mediating role through the path of"short-form video overuse→anxiety".Online learning environments are difficult to achieve and maintain high optimal levels of arousal in sensation-seeking individuals, thus driving individuals to shift their attention outward to short-form video use in a limited amount of time and space, leading to anxiety and thus learning burnout.Adverse effects of sensation seeking should be prevented and reduced, and online learning environments should be optimized to reduce learning burnout.
