The Guiding Role of Culture in Developing Innovative Talents—The Enlightenment of Science and Innovation Education with Chinese Characteristics
In response to the long-standing arguments about the questionable creativity of Chinese culture,this article explores the cultural foundation and strategies for cultivating innovative talents from a comparative perspective of Eastern and Western cultures.The article critically reflects on the influence of the Western-led creativity evaluation standard on China's innovation confidence,and constructs the I-CCAF analysis framework from the dimensions of personality,values,motivation,cognitive processing,thinking style,creative process and product,analyzes the different orientations of Chinese and Western cultures on creativity.It points out that:although creativity has very different manifestations among the East and West cultures,there is no definite high and low.Only creativity with a balance between the orientations of the East and the West is a comprehensive and abundant form of creativity.On this basis,the article puts forward three ways to cultivate innovative talents in China:first,to establish an educational philosophy with morality as the goal;second,to integrate cultural and social science issues and explore educational themes with Chinese characteristics;third,to implement a dual foundation and creativity-oriented educational program;combine Chinese and Western educational ideas,and explore the model of science and innovation education that suits China's national conditions.
