Whole Process Analysis of Single Raindrop Corona of Wire at Power Frequency
The electromagnetic environmental issues of transmission lines are mainly caused by corona discharge, and the environmental changes such as rainfall which may exacerbate this phenomenon.Through the synchronous measurement technique of high-speed photography and corona current measurement, the study has conducted a detailed analysis of the whole process of corona discharge on a single raindrop at power frequency. The results show that the whole process can be divided into four stages, with tip discharge and vibration crushing discharge being the main types of discharge. The rise time and half-wave time of both types of discharge follow a normal distribution in terms of probability density. As the voltage increases, the proportion of tip discharge occurrences first decreases and then increases, with the current pulse amplitude, rise time, and half-wave time all showing an upward trend. The proportion of vibration crushing discharge occurrences first increases and then decreases, with the current pulse amplitude and rise time showing an upward trend;while the half-wave time shows a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. The variation in raindrop radius also exerts a certain influence on the discharge times and current characteristics of different discharge types. This study provides a new perspective for understanding the changes in corona loss and audible noise of transmission lines during rainy weather.
