Overview of Researches on Environmental DNA of Aquatic Animals and Its Application in Researches on Relevant Disease Transmission
In recent years, environmental DNA technology has been rapidly developed as a new biomonitoring method, especially in research on aquatic animals, but the risk of disease transmission in aquatic animals has been less studied. In the paper, environmental DNA was introduced based on current research results, and relevant researches were reviewed in terms of species diversity investigation, biomass evaluation, monitoring of rare or alien species invasion, population genetics and animals diseases, etc.,and the prospect that environmental DNA technology combined with the research on the risk of disease transmission in aquatic animals was analyzed, providing a new idea and starting point for further development and application of environmental DNA technology in the field of aquatic animal disease monitoring.
