Analysis on the Effectiveness of Colloidal Gold Immunochromatographic Strips/Cards for Detecting Brucellosis in Cattle and Sheep
In order to compare the effectiveness of colloidal gold immunochromatographic strips/cards with different brands for detecting brucellosis in cattle and sheep,6 brands of strips/cards were used to detect antibodies in Brucella negative and positive serum to compare their accuracy and sensitivity;and clinical serum samples that were preliminarily screened using Rose-bengal plate agglutination test(RBPT)and rechecked using compet0itive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(cELISA)were tested and compared by the strips/cards.The results showed that the detection rates of the strips/cards for enterprise-standard Brucella negative and positive serum samples were all 100%,in which two strips/cards had higher sensitivity and could detect positive serum with different dilution ratios;the strips/cards could detect 100%clinical negative serum samples, but the results for clinical positive serum samples were greatly different, with a detection rate of 5.88%~70.59%for sheep positive serum samples and 50.0%~100.0%for cattle positive serum samples. In conclusion, different brands of strips/cards were with different performance in detecting brucellosis. For the purpose of obtaining accurate test results,it was thus recommended that brucellosis should be reexamined using relevant national diagnostic techniques after it was preliminarily screened by the strips/cards.
