Detection and Analysis of Serological Antibodies against Major Animal Diseases on Standardized Demonstration Swine Farms in Chenzhou City,Hunan Province in 2023
In order to investigate the level of serological antibodies against major animal diseases on standardized demonstration swine farms in Chenzhou City,Hunan Province,431 swine serum samples collected from 17 farms were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)for antibodies against 4 diseases(involving 6 indicators),including foot-and-mouth disease type O(FMD-O),foot-and-mouth disease type A(FMD-A),classical swine fever(CSF),porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(PRRS)and pseudorabies(PR),and chi square test was conducted using R(V4.3.1)software for analysis of regional distribution, pig population size, growth stage and other factors influencing the immune level of FMD.The results showed that antibody positive rates of CSF,PRRS,FMD-A,FMD-O,PR-gB and PR-gE were 86.54%,65.89%,79.81%,85.85%,85.38%and 1.62%,respectively;for the immunization of FMD,the farms in western Chenzhou were the best, and those in northern Chenzhou were the worst, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05);for antibody positive rate of pig populations at different growth stages, statistical significance was observed(P<0.05),especially the rate of fattening pigs was the highest, while that of pig populations with different sizes was not significant(P>0.05).In conclusion, the level of antibodies against major animal diseases was relatively high on standardized demonstration swine farms in Chenzhou City,Hunan Province in 2023,but the antibody positive rate at the individual level was lower in some regions.Meanwhile, wild PR virus was present in pig populations, posing a risk of outbreak;regional distribution and growth stage were crucial to the immune effect of FMD.Relevant vaccination or supplementary vaccination should be adjusted based on regular evaluation to better prevent and control animal diseases and safeguard the safety of pig production.
