Research Progress in the Application of Droplet-based Digital PCR Assay to Animal Disease Detection
Digital PCR(dPCR)is the third generation PCR developed recently, especially droplet-based digital PCR(ddPCR),with the advantages of high sensitivity, high tolerance, good accuracy, good reproducibility as well as absolute quantification for target nucleic acids in sample without relying on the standard curve, has been widely concerned by researchers. With a number of advantages,ddPCR has been rapidly developed in the field of animal disease pathogen detection, and successfully used to detect viruses, bacteria, parasites,Mycoplasma,Chlamydia and other pathogens, especially supporting the investigation into pathogens at low abundance, laboratory testing and typing identification. In the study, the general principles of ddPCR as well as its application and prospects in animal disease diagnosis were reviewed, with a view to providing a reference for application of the technology to animal disease diagnosis in veterinary laboratories.
