Serological Surveillance and Analysis on FMD in Malipo County,Yunnan Province from 2021 to 2023
In order to investigate the immune status of foot-and-mouth disease(FMD)in domestic animals in Malipo County along China-Vietnam border in Yunnan Province,4 846 serum samples of pigs, cattle and sheep were collected from the county from 2021 to 2023,and antibodies against FMD virus(FMDV)were detected using FMDV type O/A ELISA kit and non-structural protein 3ABC blocking ELISA kit.The results showed that the qualification rates of FMD type O in pigs, cattle and sheep as well as FMD type A in cattle and sheep were 74.08%and 73.95%,respectively,and the former was statistically different among different kinds of animals(P<0.05),and the latter was without obvious difference(P>0.05);both the two qualification rates of FMD type A and O were statistically different in different years(P<0.05);the qualification rate of FMD type O in large-scale farms was significantly higher than that in free-range households(P<0.05),and the qualification rate of FMD type A in large-scale cattle farms was significantly higher than that in free-range households(P<0.05).The detection results of antibodies against FMDV non-structural protein showed that the antibody positive rates were 1.30%,16.29%and 16.99%,respectively in pigs, cattle and sheep, those in the latter two were obviously higher than that in the former, with statistical difference(P<0.05).In conclusion, the overall immune effect of FMD in pigs, cattle and sheep was good in the county, although FMDV infection was available to different extents. It was recommended to continuously strengthen vaccination for FMD as well as evaluation on immune effect, improve serological and pathogenetic monitoring, timely identify FMDV inter-animal infection, prevent and control possible prevalence of FMD in border areas, and to reduce potential risk of spread to the inland.
