Research Progress of the Etiology and Diagnostic Methods of Duck Tambusu Virus Disease
Duck Tembusu virus disease(DTMUVD)is a contagious disease caused by duck Tembusu virus(DTMUV)characterized by viral encephalitis(in ducklings and growing ducks)and decreased egg production(in laying ducks).DTMUV consists of 3 structural and 7 non-structural proteins with respective and important functions, playing an important role in the researches on the virus pathogenesis and development of vaccines.A variety of methods have been used for clinical diagnosis or laboratory testing of DTMUV,such as virus isolation and identification and immunohistochemistry for virus particles,ELISA and colloidal gold immunochromatography for specific proteins or antibodies,as well as conventional RT-PCR and fluorescence quantitative PCR for viral nucleic acids. In the paper, the research progress on pathogenesis and diagnostic methods of DTMUVD were reviewed, aiming to provide a reference for further researches and comprehensive prevention and control of the disease.
