Analysis on the Key Amino Acid Sites Affecting the Biological Properties of H9N2 Subtype Avian Influenza Virus
For various subtypes of avian influenza virus(AIV),H9N2 subtype is the most prevalent one in poultry in China to the most extensive degree, which seriously affects healthy development of poultry industry, and may infect mammals.Internal genes of H9N2 subtype AIV have been found in novel influenza viruses such as H5N1,H7N9,H10N8 and H3N8 that may infect human beings, posing a great threat to public health security. Here, research progress of mutations at key functional amino acid sites affecting viral pathogenicity, receptor binding, replication capacity and transmission in poultry or mammals was summarized based on H9N2 subtype virus, with a view to interpreting the mechanisms and roles of H9N2 subtype virus and its internal genes in the generation of novel influenza viruses.
