Advances in Diagnostic Techniques for Feline Coronavirus Disease
Feline coronavirus disease is a feline infectious disease caused by feline coronavirus(FCoV)with main symptoms of upper respiratory tract inflammation, intestinal tract inflammation and thoracic peritonitis, mainly spreads through fecal-oral route, and is prevalent all over the world, but there has been no effective vaccines or specific therapeutic drugs.Feline infectious peritonitis(FIP)caused by feline infectious peritonitis virus(FIPV)is one of the feline viral diseases with the highest mortality rate due to its extremely high lethality and difficulties in diagnosis and prevention. It is still difficult to distinguish the feline enteric coronavirus(FECV)and FIPV by the techniques of clinical diagnosis and most laboratory testing due to their lack of specificity.RT-LAMP,RT-RAA and other new techniques could gradually make up the gap of rapid clinical detection, although RT-PCR and RT-qPCR based on PCR have relative high specificity. Here, the research progress of diagnostic techniques for FCoV was reviewed, with a view to laying a foundation for the development of rapid diagnostic methods for FCoV and formulation of diagnostic technical standards.
