Serological Investigation on Four Major Animal Diseases in Fattening Sheep Farms/Households in Dongying City,Shandong Province
In order to investigate the immunization status of foot-and-mouth disease type O(FMD-O)and peste des petits ruminants(PPR)as well as the prevalence of parainfluenza and Mycoplasma pneumonia in fattening sheep farms/households in Dongying City, serum samples collected from 5 counties(districts)in the city from 2020 to 2022 were tested for foot-and-mouth disease virus type O(FMDV-O),peste des petits ruminants virus(PPRV),goat parainfluenza virus type 3(CPIV3)and Mycoplasma ovipneumoniae(Mo)using ELISA.The results showed that the individual positive rates of FMDV-O,PPRV,CPIV3 and Mo were 90.98%,90.62%,62.33%and 80.94%,respectively,and the ones at farm/group level were 88.24%,92.16%,78.57%and 92.86%,respectively;the antibody positive rates of FMDV-O and PPRV fluctuated with a trend of decreasing followed by increasing, the positive rates of CPIV3 and Mo at both group/farm and individual level were lower in 2022 compared with those in the previous two years. In conclusion, the immunization effect of FMD-O and PPR was good in the city, posing a low risk of disease outbreak, while CPIV3 and Mo were widely and seriously distributed, from which all harm should be concerned with intensive monitoring to reduce the impact of such diseases on breeding benefits, meanwhile,a flexible monitoring mode centering on intensive monitoring in spring and fall and supplemented by monitoring based on production batch should be applied to improve performance of the monitoring.
