Investigation on the Contamination of Three Types of Viruses Causing Pig Reproductive Disorders in Anhui Province in 2023
In order to investigate the contamination of three types of viruses causing pig reproductive disorders,2 110 swine lymph node tissue samples were collected from 101 slaughterhouses and 20 rendering plants in 16 cities of Anhui Province from October to November 2023,to detect classical swine fever virus(CSFV),porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV)and Getah virus(GETV)using fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR.The results showed that, for the three viruses, individual positive rates were 0.19%,5.32%and 5.86%,respectively,and 42 out of 110 PRRSV-positive samples were positive for NADC30-like nucleic acids;the farm/site positive rates of slaughterhouses were 0.99%,41.58%and 39.60%,respectively,PRRSV and GETV were detected in northern, southern and central Anhui, but CSFV was only detected in southern Anhui;the farm/site positive rates of rendering plants were 10.00%,35.00%and 10.00%,respectively;single contaminated herds on slaughterhouses and rendering plants accounted for 39.60%and 25.00%,respectively,and mixed contaminated herds were 20.79%and 15.00%,respectively.In conclusion,CSFV was effectively controlled, but PRRSV and GETV was widely distributed with mixed contamination,NADC30-like PRRSV was predominant in the field of Anhui Province. It was recommended to track all mutation of PRRSV in time and to conduct vaccination activities;to improve disinfection and source extermination against mosquitoes, midges and other blood-sucking arthropods in their living areas to prevent and control possible spread of GETV;and to increase monitoring for swine diseases and supervision over pig transportation in the areas with mass production of pigs.
