Analysis on the Status of Licensed Veterinary Qualification Examination in Shanghai City from 2021 to 2023
In order to investigate the status of licensed veterinary qualification examination in Shanghai after national reform to the examination in 2021,relevant data before and after the reform were statistically analyzed.The results showed that the number of applicants increased year by year from 2021 to 2023,and average annual growth rate of intended examination types/frequency reached 22.43%,and was significantly higher than that before the reform;the average proportion of female applicants(55.12%)was higher than that of male ones(44.88%),and was increasing year by year;applicants from animal clinics accounted for the largest proportion(52.98%),and the proportion of student applicants increased significantly from 6.23%before the reform to 18.21%after the reform;the distribution of academic qualifications was generally regular,the number of applicants with junior college diploma was maximum,accounting for 58.04%-63.13%;the average passing rate increased from 21.41%before the reform to 23.70%after the reform.In conclusion,the enthusiasm of Shanghai veterinary personnel to apply for licensed veterinary qualification examination had been improved by the reform year by year,accompanied by increasing pass rate,which expanded professional veterinary team and promoted the development of professionals in the whole veterinary industry,although examination resources were wasted by low attendance rate.Based on the changes of the examination in Shanghai,it was recommended to establish a sound examination service supporting mechanism,actively explore the measures on how to save examination resources,and to promote continuous education and training of veterinary professionals to improve the quality and efficiency of their service,aiming to support the examination.
