Epidemiological Investigation on Arboviral Diseases in the Border Areas of Yunnan Province in 2023
In order to reveal the epidemiological background of arboviral diseases in the border areas of Yunnan Province,1 630 bovine serum samples collected from 8 border areas were detected for antibodies against bluetongue virus(BTV)and Akabane virus(AKAV),and the detection data were analyzed. The results showed that the average positive rates of BTV and AKAV antibodies were 83.68%and 6.87%,respectively,and positive samples of BTV and AKAV were detected in all the 8 areas;the positive rates of BTV and AKAV antibodies in imported cattle were significantly higher than those in local cattle(P<0.05);the positive rate of BTV antibodies on intensive farms was significantly higher than those on free-range households(P<0.05);and that of BTV antibodies in buffaloes was significantly higher than that in yellow cattle(P<0.05),but on the contrary was that of AKAV(P<0.05).In conclusion,BTV and AKAV were widely prevalent in the border areas of Yunnan Province, especially the former, but varied in different areas, sources and species of cattle. It was recommended to continuously carry out serological surveillance over arboviruses in the border areas, increase the inspection and quarantine for imported cattle, urge households/farms to make efforts in deworming and pest prevention, and to continuously improve their level of feeding management.
