A Genetic Study of the"Russian School of Poetics"Taking the Entry of"Poetics"in the Brokgauz and Yefron Encyclopedic Dictionary as an Example
The article takes the entry of"Poetics"in Russia's first encyclopedia as an example and draws on other relevant literatures and materials to examine the development and evolution of European poetics in Russia.It especially analyzes the possible clues of its modem transformation,and explores the academic environment in which this modernization can be realized.The author of this paper argues that in terms of the modernization of European poetics in Russia,if the research of Davydov and Shevyrev belongs to the budding phase,then Buslaev,Potebnya,and Veselovsky are the founders;that it has changed from poetics that exercises the function of teaching poetry to a science that studies the essence of poetry,which is a major breakthrough in the development of European poetics.The achievements of modern aesthetics and linguistics in Western Europe have played an important role in the budding and foundation of the"Russian School of Poetics".
