The Current Situation of Public Russian Language Teaching at Universities and Suggestions for Teaching Improvement
In recent years,with the increasing number of candidates choosing Russian as a foreign language subject for the university entrance examination,the number of students studying Russian as a foreign language in higher education institutions has also been increasing year by year.However,in the process,teachers found that the vocabulary,reading,translation and oral communication skills of most university freshmen had not yet reached the basic requirements of the Russian language manual and curriculum of the Chinese Ministry of Education.Because of this,Dezhou University conducted a two-year study on the status of public Russian language teaching for students in 35 Chinese universities.Taking into account the olive chart of the performance distribution of Russian for nonphilological students in the current universities and the needs of the students,we made the following suggestions:increase the number of acd.hrs.for Russian language teaching,optimise the distribution of teaching staff,separate students into groups as art and sports students and humanities and natural sciences students,improve the content of teaching materials,hold conferences among universities to exchange teaching and research experiences.
