A Study of the Translator's Cultural Identity and Subjectivity in Russian Translation of Chinese Classics
As a key initiative of the strategy of"taking Chinese culture to the global stage",Russian translation of Chinese classics has built a bridge between Chinese and Russian cultures.With the"cultural turn"in translation studies,the study of translator's cultural identity and subjectivity has been increasingly emphasized by the academic community.In this paper,we select a number of Russian translations of Confucian texts as the research object,focus on the translator's cultural identity and subjectivity,and examine how different translators are influenced by the background of the times,cultural identity,translation motives and other factors.Then we can faithfully convey the essence of the texts,flexibly select translation strategies,accurately grasp the addition and deletion of annotations,and skillfully reproduce the rhetorical flavor of the original text,so as to present different styles of Russian translations of Confucian texts.This paper not only provides an opportunity for the development of a scientific translation model for the translation of classic,but also empirical support for the construction of a scientific translation model of Chinese classics,and at the same time provides more insights and thoughts for the Russian translation of Chinese classics.
