The Succession Book of the Civil Code has consistently maintained the essence of Chinese law on core issues and formed an independent knowledge system of succession law with Chinese characteristics.However,wealth growth,changes in family structure,diversification of intimate relationships,and the absolute dominance of intergenerational relationships in ethical relations pose serious challenges to the independent knowledge system of succession law to uphold its fundamental principles.The future of the independent knowledge system of succession law lies in innovation,and innovation must directly address and respond to the issues raised by the era.We should take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the theoretical basis and the core socialist values as the guidance,confront questions in the development stage of the new era towards existing institutions,innovate in the interpretation of existing norms,and integrate the core socialist values into the interpretation and reasoning of judgments,in order to achieve the continuity,scientific nature,and inherent morality of the independent knowledge system of succession law.
