Analysis on the changes and clinical significance of serum lipoxin A4 and NMLR levels in children with allergic rhinitis
Objective To explore the changes and clinical significance of serum lipoxin A4 and[neutrophil(NEU)+monocyte(MON)]/lymphocyte(LYM)ratio(NMLR)in children with allergic rhinitis.Methods A total of 86 children diagnosed as allergic rhi-nitis by nasal examination in Hangzhou Children's Hospital from September 2020 to December 2022 were selected,the severity of the disease was evaluated by Pediatric Rhino-conjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire(PRQLQ)score,then the children were divided into mild group(31 cases)and moderate-severe group(55 cases).Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect serum lipoxin A4 lev-els.The numbers of NEU,MON,and LYM were counted,NMLR was calculated.Pearson correlational analysis method was used to analyze the relationships between serum lipoxin A4,NMLR and PRQLQ score.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to analyze the evaluation value for prognosis of the disease.Results The levels of serum lipoxin A4,NEU,MON,and NMLR in moderate-severe group were statistically significantly higher than those in mild group,while LYM level was lower than that in mild group(P<0.05).Pear-son correlational analysis showed that serum lipoxin A4 was positively correlated with PRQLQ score(r=9.731,P<0.05),NMLR was posi-tively correlated with PRQLQ score(r=8.169,P<0.05).The levels of serum lipoxin A4,NEU,MON,and NMLR in poor prognosis group were statistically significantly higher than those in good prognosis group,while LYM level was lower than that in good prognosis group(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic stepwise regression analysis showed that gender(OR=2.291,95%CI:1.316-3.990),utilization of air cleaning facility(OR=1.929,95%CI:1.266-2.940),lipoxin A4(OR=3.450,95%CI:1.835-5.911),NMLR(OR=3.016,95%CI:1.682-5.409)were independent influencing factors of prognosis of children with allergic rhinitis.ROC curve showed that when the cutoff values of lipoxin A4 and NMLR were 62.91 nmol/L and 6.23,respectively,the diagnostic value for prognosis of children with allergic rhini-tis was high(P<0.05),the diagnostic value of combined detection was the highest,the area under ROC curve was 0.882.Conclusion Serum lipoxin A4 and NMLR are closely correlated with severity and prognosis of allergic rhinitis in children,which can be used as the potential markers for poor prognosis of children with allergic rhinitis.
