Application Research of MDT Teaching in Spine Tumor Training for Visiting Physicians
Objective:To explore the effectiveness of multi-disciplinary team teaching in spine tumor education.Methods:32 visiting physicians specializing in spine surgery who attended orthopedic training at Peking University Third Hospital from September 2020 to September 2022 were selected as research subjects. An experimental control method was used, employing MDT teaching during primary spine tumor education and traditional ward round teaching during secondary spine metastasis tumor education.Through objective assessments and classroom experience surveys, the teaching effects of two different teaching methods were compared. Results:The assessment results indicated that the scores of physicians under the two teaching methods in judging tumor malignancy, formulating surgical plans, and determining whether postoperative chemotherapy or targeted therapy was needed were(9.0±1.1),(9.2±0.7),(9.1±0.8)and(7.4±1.4),(7.2±1.1),(6.8±0.9)respectively,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Survey results showed that 65.6%of physicians believed that MDT teaching made them more interested in spine tumors,71.9%believed that MDT teaching improved their self-learning ability,75.0%believed that MDT teaching improved their learning efficiency, and 87.5%believed that MDT teaching increased their knowledge of spine tumors. Conclusion:MDT teaching can stimulate the learning interest of visiting physicians, improve their self-learning ability and learning efficiency, and better grasp knowledge related to spine tumors.
