Application of TBL Combined with Scenario Simulation Teaching Method in Pediatric Respiratory Clinical Internship
Objective:To explore the effectiveness of TBL combined with a scenario simulation teaching method in pediatric respiratory clinical internships for undergraduate students. Methods:Sixty undergraduate students who underwent clinical internships in pediatric respiratory medicine at the First Hospital of Jilin University from May 2019 to May 2021 were randomly assigned to the experimental group(30 students)and the control group(30 students). The experimental group received instruction using TBL combined with scenario simulation teaching, while the control group received traditional preceptorship. After the internship, theoretical and practical tests were conducted, and multidimensional teaching satisfaction was evaluated. Results:The experimental group's scores in pediatrics theory, practical skills, medical record writing, physical examination, and other aspects were significantly higher than the control group's scores(P<0.05).In terms of teaching satisfaction, the experimental group scored significantly higher in teacher attractiveness, classroom atmosphere, and believed that the teaching method was more conducive to knowledge acquisition and clinical thinking cultivation(P<0.05).Conclusion:TBL combined with scenario simulation teaching method achieved good teaching results in pediatric respiratory clinical internships for undergraduate students and is worth further promotion in pediatric clinical practice.
