The Impact of Childhood Adversity on Medical Students'Smartphone Dependency:The Mediating Role of Adult Attachment
Objective:To explore the relationship between childhood adversity,adult attachment,and smartphone dependency among medical students.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted on 479 medical students using the Childhood Adversity Questionnaire,Adult Attachment Scale,and Smartphone Dependency Scale.Results:The smartphone dependency scores of female students were significantly higher than those of male students(t=-2.26,P<0.05).Childhood adversity,attachment avoidance,and attachment anxiety were significantly positively correlated with smartphone dependency(r=0.10-0.48,P<0.05).Both attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety mediated the relationship between childhood adversity and smartphone dependency(P<0.05).Conclusion:Childhood adversity is an important factor influencing smartphone dependency,and attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety act as mediating variables.
