Research and Practice of"Student-Centered"and"Competition Promoting Learning"Teaching Mode Under the Guidance of Constructivism Learning Theory
Following the constructivist learning theory,a teaching model centered around"students"and driven by competition was established.Applying this teaching model from 2014 to 2021,five sessions of"Microbial Hunter Speech Contest"and three sessions of"Microbiology Design Experiment Contest"were held in the teaching of clinical microbiology laboratory courses for undergraduate medical students. The former narrates scientific anecdotes and analyzes the scientific spirit and social value behind scientific breakthroughs, while the latter involves conducting a small-scale scientific research from experimental design, implementation,to paper writing.Students participate in the form of study groups and independently complete the competition. These two competitions create a constructivist ideal peer learning environment, integrating the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom with the competition, igniting students'inner drive for learning, enhancing their autonomous learning ability and learning effectiveness, and cultivating their competitive cooperation awareness and innovation ability. In addition,This teaching mode integrates ideological guidance and value shaping into the teaching process, which achieves the purpose of skill training and ideological and political education, and is a successful attempt to cultivate high-quality talents in colleges and universities.
