Application of Rapid Cycling Deliberate Practice in Standardized Training of Nurses for Sepsis Shock Emergency Skills in General Surgery
Objective:To explore the application effects of rapid cycling deliberate practice in standardized training of nurses for sepsis shock emergency skills in general surgery. Methods:A randomized controlled trial was conducted. In August 2023,58 nurses from the general surgery department of a tertiary hospital in Zhejiang Province were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into control group and experimental group, with 29 students in each group.Under the guidance of nursing skills training instructors, both groups received time-limited training on sepsis shock emergency skills. The control group used traditional exercises, while the experimental group used rapid cycling deliberate practice. After the training, both groups were assessed on their sepsis shock emergency skills, and satisfaction and confidence in handling septic shock patients were surveyed.Independent sample t-tests and paired sample t-tests were used for statistical analysis. Results:The post-training sepsis shock emergency skills of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in terms of confidence in training methods and handling septic shock patients again(P>0.05).Conclusion:The application of rapid cycling deliberate practice in sepsis shock emergency skills training is effective in improving nurses'operational skills, satisfaction, and confidence.
