Changes in Competency Recognition of Public Health Students Before and After the COVID-19 Pandemic and Influencing Factors:An Analysis
Objective:To explore the changes in competency recognition among public health students during the COVID-19 pandemic and the influencing factors.Methods:A survey questionnaire was administered to 429 public health students,and the obtained results were subjected to statistical analysis.Results:The overall level of competency recognition among public health students during the pandemic was significantly higher than before the pandemic(P<0.01);the average scores of competency recognition before and after the pandemic were(3.07±0.59)and(3.49±0.62),respectively.Grade level,school attributes,and whether students held positions as student cadres were identified as influencing factors for changes in competency recognition.Conclusion:The COVID-19 pandemic,as an emergent intervention factor,has promoted the enhancement of competency recognition among public health students.
