Preliminary Application of CBL Teaching Method Based on PACS System in Standardized Training for Residents in Ultrasound Medicine
Objective:Based on the preliminary construction of a clinical ultrasound case library based on the Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS),this study aimed to explore the application value of Case-Based Learning(CBL)in standardized training for residents in ultrasound medicine. Methods:A total of 40 residents undergoing standardized training in the ultrasound medicine department of our hospital in 2020 were divided into experimental and control groups. The traditional mentoring method and the CBL teaching method based on the PACS system were applied for teaching. The teaching effectiveness of the two groups and the teaching satisfaction of the mentoring teachers were evaluated through assessments of ultrasound theoretical knowledge, clinical thinking and decision-making,and questionnaire surveys. Results:The experimental group showed significantly higher scores than the control group in ultrasound theoretical knowledge and ultrasound clinical thinking and decision-making exams(P<0.05).The experimental group also scored significantly higher in ultrasound theoretical learning, communication between students, and self-expression abilities compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The CBL teaching method based on the PACS system can effectively improve the clinical thinking and decision-making abilities,as well as the language expression abilities of the residents. It can also enhance the mentoring level of teachers and the satisfaction of the residents.
