Survey and Analysis of Graduate Supervisor Guidance on Research Work in Local Medical Colleges in Ethnic Regions:A Case Study of Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities
Objective:To analyze the situation of graduate supervisor guidance on research work in local medical colleges in ethnic regions and provide reference for the management of graduate supervisor teams.Methods:Referring to relevant literature and the school's regulations on graduate education and related management,a questionnaire was formulated and distributed to 76 master's degree supervisors who have guided master's degree students.Results:In guiding graduate students'research work,98.68%of supervisors chose face-to-face communication with students;89.47%of supervisors chose to involve students in their own research projects;81.58%of supervisors spent more than 3 months cumulatively on research work each year;77.63%of supervisors met with graduate students 6 times or more each semester;89.48%of supervisors spent more than 0.5 hours communicating with graduate students during each meeting;38.16%of supervisors allocated research funding of more than 20,000 RMB to graduate students.97.37%of supervisors believed that graduate students were highly motivated to participate in research work;90.79%of supervisors believed that graduate students had academic responsibility;76.32%of supervisors believed that graduate students'problem-solving thinking was not comprehensive,and 69.74%of supervisors believed that graduate students'basic knowledge was not solid.Conclusion:The university should strengthen the management of supervisor guidance on graduate students'research work to ensure the investment of time and funding by supervisors in the cultivation of graduate students'research quality.At the same time,supervisors should emphasize the cultivation of research thinking and the learning of basic knowledge by students.
