Analysis of the Application Effect of Standardized Patients in Hematology History Taking Teaching during Routine Clinical Internship
Objective:To explore the application effect of standardized patients(SP)in hematology history taking teaching for undergraduate clinical medical students during routine clinical internship. Methods:Eighty fifth-year students majoring in clinical medicine at our university in 2014 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into two groups:control group(n=40)receiving routine clinical internship teaching, and experimental group(n=40)receiving a teaching format combining SP with routine internship. After the rotation, the teaching effects of the two groups were compared using the National Medical Licensing Examination scoring criteria for history taking assessment and student self-evaluation forms. Results:The scores of the experimental group students in various aspects such as history taking content, collection process, interviewing skills, communication ability, and humanities literacy were higher than those of the control group(P<0.01).The proportion of students in the experimental group who rated themselves as good or very good in self-assessment items such as confidence in reception, start of questioning, process of history taking, end of questioning, comprehensiveness of questioning, and logic of questioning was significantly higher than that of the control group. Conclusion:The combination of routine clinical internship and SP can effectively improve the level of hematology history taking among undergraduate clinical medical students.
