Application of Case-Based Learning(CBL)Combined with 3D Slicer Visualization Teaching in Neurosurgery Internship for Medical Students
Objective:To explore the application value of Case-Based Learning(CBL)combined with 3D Slicer software visualization teaching in neurosurgery internship for medical students. Methods:Sixty interns rotating in the Department of Neurosurgery at the First People's Hospital of Taizhou City from January 2020 to July 2021 were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. The control group received CBL teaching, while the experimental group received CBL teaching combined with 3D Slicer software visualization teaching. At the end of the internship, both groups of students underwent an exit examination and a satisfaction questionnaire survey, and the results were compared. Results:The theoretical examination,on-site defense, and comprehensive scores of the experimental group in the exit examination were significantly higher than those of the control group. In the satisfaction survey, the experimental group showed significant improvement in learning interest, spatial thinking ability, clinical thinking ability, creative thinking ability, autonomous learning ability, and overall satisfaction compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:CBL combined with 3D Slicer visualization teaching has achieved good results in neurosurgery internship teaching, significantly improving teaching effectiveness and satisfaction, and is worthy of promotion in teaching hospitals at the grassroots level.
