The Role of Competition-Based Teaching in Cultivating Clinical Practice Skills in Medical Students
Objective:To explore the role of competition-based teaching in cultivating practical skills in medical students.Methods:Three consecutive cohorts of students enrolled in a five-year clinical program were selected as the research subjects.A total of 315 students were included,among which 105 participated in skills training and competitions(experimental group),and 210 received traditional skills teaching(control group),using a 1∶2 propensity score matching method.Results:The experimental group achieved significantly higher scores in medical history collection,physical examination,emergency operations,specialized skills,auxiliary examination interpretation,and medical record writing compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Conducting skills training and competitions helps students improve their clinical skills proficiency.
