Investigation and Analysis of Factors Influencing the Professional Identity of New Students in Traditional Chinese Medicine
Professional identity is a crucial factor affecting the self-efficacy of new students majoring in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).This study used a self-developed questionnaire to investigate the factors influencing the professional identity of 398 first-year TCM students.Results showed that humanities students had significantly higher professional identity and self-efficacy compared to science students(P<0.01).Path analysis indicated that the accumulation of TCM knowledge positively impacted professional identity(r=0.24,z=4.89,P<0.01),personal experience positively affected professional identity(r=0.16,z=3.39,P<0.01),environmental atmosphere had a positive impact on professional identity(r=0.22,z=4.36,P<0.01),and professional identity significantly influenced self-efficacy(r=0.46,z=10.37,P<0.01).Conclusion:Enhancing TCM knowledge,improving social environment,and optimizing internship experiences can cultivate professional identity and improve self-efficacy among new TCM students.
