Survey on the Current Status and Motivation of Pediatric Nurses Participating in Continuing Education
Objective:This study aims to investigate the current status and motivation of pediatric nurses participating in continuing education,providing insights for improving continuing education and training for pediatric nurses.Methods:Using purposive sampling,questionnaires were administered to pediatric nurses who undertook further education at a tertiary children's specialty hospital from December 2022 to March 2023.Results:Among the 347 pediatric nurses surveyed,42.9%expressed willingness to participate in continuing education.More than 80.0%of nurses indicated interest in learning professional knowledge,nursing research,advancements in nursing theory and practice,and new nursing technologies.Time constraints were identified as the primary barrier.The main motivations for participating in continuing education were to enhance professional competence and improve job performance.Conclusion:Pediatric nurses show moderate willingness to participate in continuing education.There is a demand for specialized content and diversified formats.The primary obstacle to participation is time constraints,while the main goals are to enhance professional competence and job performance.
