Survey Research on Value Recognition of Undergraduate Graduates Participating in Undergraduate Thesis Writing
Objective:To understand the value recognition of undergraduate graduates regarding participation in undergraduate thesis writing,and to provide information support for further improving undergraduate thesis practical teaching.Methods:Graduated undergraduate students majoring in Stomatology and Dental Technology at Chongqing Medical University were surveyed.Based on their post-graduation study and work situations,respondents completed online surveys evaluating their recognition,value assessment,and suggestions regarding undergraduate thesis writing.Results:Among 235 respondents,approximately 74%believed it was necessary to write a thesis.About 75%reported gains,with many citing significant benefits in literature review skills,research thinking,and writing abilities.Most respondents believed that participating in undergraduate thesis writing experiences helped in continuing studies and work after graduation.They emphasized that undergraduate thesis practical teaching should primarily cultivate skills in literature review,research thinking,and a rigorous academic attitude.Most graduates supported the Ministry of Education's decision to implement sampling inspections of undergraduate theses.Conclusion:Undergraduate thesis practical teaching contributes to developing students'capabilities for post-graduation studies and work.Future efforts should focus on further enhancing students'understanding of academic ethics and norms.
