Research on Self-Efficacy in English Learning of Medical Undergraduates and Its Pedagogical Implications
Purpose:This study investigates the self-efficacy in English learning among medical undergraduates and its correlation with English proficiency.Methods:Using a self-efficacy scale,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 70 randomly selected medical undergraduates.Results:Overall,medical students demonstrate relatively low self-efficacy in English learning.There is a significant difference in self-efficacy mean scores between high and low proficiency groups,although not statistically significant.Conclusion:Non-intellectual factors should be emphasized for medical students,enhancing self-efficacy in English learning through opportunities for success,peer role models,verbal persuasion,and relaxation strategies.
