Application of Team-Based Learning(TBL)Teaching Method Based on Student-Made Micro-Lectures in Orthodontic Education:A Case Study on Archwire Bending
Objective:This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the Team-Based Learning(TBL)method based on student-made micro-lectures in teaching archwire bending in orthodontic education. Methods:From September to October 2019,60 undergraduate students from China Medical University were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group used the TBL teaching method based on student-made micro-lectures,while the control group used traditional teaching methods.Theoretical knowledge and practical skills were assessed after the course. Results:The experimental group achieved significantly higher scores in theoretical knowledge and practical skills compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The TBL teaching method based on student-made micro-lectures encourages active participation, independent learning, deep exploration, communication, and collaboration among students. It effectively improves the quality of teaching archwire bending in orthodontics and merits wider application.
