Application and Reflection on Mini-CEX Combined with CBL in Standardized Training of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment
Objective:To explore the application effect of Mini-CEX combined with CBL teaching in the standardized training of comprehensive geriatric assessment in the geriatric department.Methods:Sixty physicians who underwent standardized training in comprehensive geriatric assessment in the Geriatrics Department of Wuhan Tongji Hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 were selected as research subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group,with 30 physicians in each group.The control group received routine teaching,while the experimental group underwent one Mini-CEX evaluation of their clinical comprehensive geriatric assessment and one typical case analysis and discussion using the CBL teaching method each week.After the training,the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of comprehensive geriatric assessment were assessed in both groups,and the satisfaction of teachers and physicians with the teaching was statistically analyzed.Results:The scores of the theoretical assessment and practical skills assessment in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group,and the satisfaction with the teaching in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:Applying Mini-CEX combined with CBL teaching in the standardized training of comprehensive geriatric assessment helps improve the teaching effect of comprehensive geriatric assessment,better facilitates clinical physicians in geriatrics to manage elderly health,and enhances the depth of clinical diagnosis and treatment.
