The Effect of Foreign Journal Reading Teaching on the Cultivation of Humanistic Care Awareness in Medical Students
Objective:To explore the effect of foreign journal reading teaching on the cultivation of humanistic care awareness and capability in medical students.Methods:Two classes of 2019 medical students were selected as the research subjects.From March 2020 to January 2021,one class(57 students)was randomly selected as the experimental group,and the other class(59 students)served as the control group.Both groups used the same university English textbook,but the experimental group received additional foreign journal reading(related to medicine)as part of their teaching.Humanistic care awareness and capability were evaluated using relevant scales for both groups.Results:The experimental group showed a certain improvement in humanistic care awareness compared to the control group(107.44±10.923 vs.102.39±13.238),with P=0.027.There was no significant difference in humanistic care capability between the two groups.Conclusion:Teaching with medical foreign journals can improve the humanistic care awareness of medical students to some extent.
