Survey on the Standardized Training of Rheumatology and Immunology Residents
Objective:To assess the effectiveness and needs of standardized training for rheumatology and immunology residents, providing reference for improving training outcomes. Methods:Residents who completed a rheumatology rotation at Changhai Hospital from September 2019 to November 2021 were surveyed using an electronic questionnaire designed with Questionnaire Star. Results:A total of 105 residents were surveyed.Residents who completed the rotation demonstrated significantly better knowledge of common rheumatological conditions and their management compared to those who did not.61.9%of residents felt that a 2-month rotation was appropriate and preferred diverse training methods such as bedside teaching, teaching rounds, and brief lectures to improve learning quality. Conclusion:Medical graduates generally have weak foundational knowledge in rheumatology. The rheumatology rotation significantly improved residents'understanding of basic knowledge and treatment standards for common rheumatological diseases, but it still falls short of meeting the standardized training requirements. There is an urgent need to enhance the teaching quality of rheumatology training.
