Exploration and Practice of Integrating Scenario Simulation into Medical Chinese Courses for International Students
Objective:To explore a modem teaching model that integrates clinical competence with medical Chinese teaching through the practical application of scenario simulation. Methods:The study involved 125 clinical medicine students from the International Education College at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University,2019 cohort.Students were divided into an experimental group(n=19)and a control group(n=106).The experimental group participated in a medical Chinese course incorporating highly simulated scenario simulations focused on clinical practice skills, while the control group engaged in online learning. Results:The experimental group showed a significant improvement in clinical competence(P<0.05)and had significantly higher theoretical exam scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).Survey results indicated that the experimental group had significantly higher satisfaction with the instructors and the course compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The medical Chinese course incorporating scenario simulation is safe, reproducible, and efficient. It aligns with medical education theory and effectively enhances international students'medical Chinese proficiency, clinical skills, and overall competence, providing a solid foundation for further study and practice upon returning to their home countries.
