Practical Application of the BOPPPS Teaching Model in Teaching Musculoskeletal Diseases
Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of the BOPPPS teaching method in the instruction of musculoskeletal diseases. Methods:A total of 143 students were randomly assigned to two groups:a control group(traditional teaching)and an experimental group(BOPPPS teaching). The traditional teaching method was used for the control group, while the BOPPPS teaching method was applied to the experimental group. The teaching outcomes were compared using theoretical exams and survey questionnaires. Results:The experimental group achieved significantly higher scores on the final theoretical exam compared to the control group(P<0.05).The experimental group also rated the BOPPPS teaching method more favorably in terms of increasing interest in learning, understanding course content, mastering theoretical knowledge, developing clinical thinking, fostering autonomous learning, class participation, classroom atmosphere, and improving communication skills. These differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared to traditional teaching methods, the BOPPPS teaching model promotes active participation in the learning process of musculoskeletal diseases, enhances clinical thinking skills, and improves academic performance.
