Preliminary Exploration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Education in Universities——Based on a Survey of Freshmen at Dali University
Objective:To assess the knowledge of freshmen at comprehensive universities regarding Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)and explore strategies for TCM cultural education at the university level.Methods:A cluster random sampling method was used to survey 1,508 freshmen at Dali University.Results:Of those surveyed,80.84%expressed belief and interest in TCM,with 89.46%willing to receive TCM treatment.A statistically significant difference was found between academic majors and gender regarding TCM interest(P<0.05),with higher interest among medical students and females.Conclusion:While university freshmen generally recognize and trust TCM,there is a lack of deep understanding.TCM education in universities should focus on consolidating,guiding,and deepening students'knowledge.
