Comparison Study of Online Teaching and Traditional Teaching for Standardized Residency Training During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of online teaching for standardized residency training during the COVID-19 pandemic and provide a reference for residency education during public health emergencies requiring isolation. Methods:A total of 245 professional degree postgraduate residents participating in standardized training in 2021 were surveyed through questionnaires, and their assessment results were compared. Results:Significant differences were found between the internal medicine and surgery groups in four areas:attention span, impact on graduation exams, satisfaction with online teaching, and skill operation test scores(P<0.05).However,there were no significant differences between the two groups in self-directed learning or willingness to voluntarily return to the hospital. Conclusion:Online teaching improves the utilization of educational resources and achieves high student satisfaction but cannot fully replace traditional teaching for skill operation training.Further exploration is needed on how to effectively implement online teaching for skills training, ward rounds, and case discussions.
