Application of PBL Teaching Method Combined with SSP in Teaching Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases to Undergraduates
Objective:To explore the effectiveness of combining PBL(Problem-Based Learning)with SSP(Standardized Simulated Patient)in teaching endocrine and metabolic diseases to clinical medical undergraduates.Method:Sixty third-year undergraduate students of clinical medicine from Three Gorges University were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group with 30 students each. The control group used traditional teaching methods, while the experimental group used PBL combined with SSP.The teaching effects were then compared. Results:The experimental group's theoretical and practical skill scores,as well as their self-evaluation and evaluation of the teaching model, were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:PBL combined with SSP can effectively improve the quality of teaching in endocrine and metabolic diseases for undergraduates.
