Sleeping quality and its Influencing factors among university students In Tianjin
Objective To know sleeping quality and its influencing factors among university students in Tianjin. Methods Using multistage random cluster sampling and Pittsburgh Sleeping Quality Index(PSQI) ,the sleeping quality and its influencing factors such as gender, grade, online time, study time, perceived academic performance, and living environment were evaluated among 3 207 undergraduates in Tianjin city. Results The mean score of PSQI was 4. 76 ± 2.55 and the prevalence of poor sleeping was 13. 22%. The cumulative logistic regression analysis showed that female( odds ratio [OR] = 1.34,P = 0.000), study time ≥8 hours per day(OR = 1.47,P = 0.000), study time≥ 10 hours per day ( OR = 1.79, P = 0. 000), study time ≥ 12 hours per day ( OR = 2. 77, P = 0. 000), normal self-perceived learning efficiency ( OR = 1. 90, P = 0. 008 ), bad self-perceived learning efficiency ( OR = 2. 73, P = 0. 000 ), worse self-perceived learning efficiency ( OR = 3. 29, P= 0. 002), and alcohol drinking ( OR = 1.33, P = 0. 005 ) were the risk factors of sleeping quality. Grade 4 of college study( OR = 0. 79, P = 0. 023 ), per capita monthly income of household above 1 000 RMB yuan ( OR = 0. 77 ,P =0. 032) ,per capita monthly income of household above 2000 RMB yuan ( OR =0. 69,P =0. 009) were protective factors of sleeping quality. Conclusion Sleeping quality of university students in Tianjin is lower than that of the population of same-age in the country. Sleeping quality is influenced by many factors. Thus comprehensive measures should be taken to improve sleeping quality among university students.
