Analysis of the nutrition and growth status of infants and young children aged 6-23 months in the nutrition improvement project area of Sichuan Province
Objective To analyze the nutritional and growth status of infants and young children aged 6-23 months in the nutrition improvement project area of Sichuan Province,and provide reference for scientific promotion of nutrition improvement work in this area.Methods A probability proportional scale sampling method was used to select 5 881 infants aged 6-23 months and their caregivers from 7 project counties in Sichuan Province.Analyze the growth and anemia status of infants and young children using chi-square test.Results The incidence of mild anemia and moderate anemia in infants and young children aged 6-23 months in the nutrition improvement project area of Sichuan Province was 9.52％and 0.48％respectively;the detection rate of malnutrition was 5.10％;the detection rate of overweight and obesity was 4.98％;the incidence rates of fever and diarrhea were 4.69％and 4.37％respectively;the effective consumption rate of children's nutrition packs was 92.65％,and the effective consumption rate of children's nutrition packs increased with age.Conclusion The two-week prevalence of fever and diarrhea among infants and young children aged 6 to 23 months in the nutrition improvement project area of Sichuan Province has significantly improved,as well as anemia and malnutrition.Children's nutrition packs can be continuously promoted and used in this area.
