Objective To analyze the current situation of human resources of environmental health monitoring in centers for disease control and prevention(CDC)at all levels in Hunan Province,and to provide basis and suggestions for strengthening the allocation of environmental health monitoring personnel and team building.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 138 CDCs and personnel at the provincial,city(state)and county(district)levels in Hunan Province from June to July 2023.Results Among the personnel responsible for environmental health monitoring in the province,31.01%aged from 45 to<55 years,37.99%had worked for less than 5 years,52.37%obtained academic certificate of bachelor or above,82.68%had the education background in medicine,and 12.43%were qualified for senior professional title.There were statistical differences in years of work(Z=-2.50),education(Z=-6.60),major(x2=37.09)and technical title(Z=-4.08)between cities and counties(P<0.05).The number of full-time environmental health personnel in some county-level CDC in the north was higher than in other regions.Conclusion The total number of staff engaged in environmental health monitoring is insufficient and there are regional differences.It is necessary to optimize the talent structure to adapt to the increasingly severe environmental health problems.
