Objective To investigate the current status of biosafety management and emplogees's awareness level of biosafety in pathogenic microorganism laboratories(hereinafter referred to as laboratories)in Wanzhou District,Chongqing,and to provide a reference for relevant departments to explore more effective regulatory methods.Methods In March 2023,employees from 71 medical and health institution laboratories in Wanzhou District were selected as survey participants,and a questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the current status of biosafety management in the laboratories.Results The proportion of personnel who had obtained biosafety training and assessment certificates was relatively low,accounting for 37.6%.Among the 71 laboratory employees,there were statistically significant differences in cognition regarding housekeeping management,establishment of health records with regular physical examinations,retention of baseline serum,and disinfection(x2=13.811,9.832,15.669,35.016;P<0.05).The overall biosafety awareness of personnel in laboratories of medical health institutions at the secondary level and above and blood collection and supply institutions was better than that of personnel in grassroots medical and health institutions and private medical institutions.Conclusion Laboratories should prioritize talent recruitment and establish and improve incentive mechanisms for professional title promotion.Health law enforcement departments should pay attention to biosafety management in laboratories of grassroots medical and health institutions and private medical institutions.
