Objective To explore the role of failure mode and effect analysis in the management of hospital infection, and to provide scientific basis for optimizing the management measures of nosocomial infection. Methods A total of 247 patients hospitalized in Jinhua People's Hospital from March to April and July to August 2024 were selected as the research objects, and 134 patients hospitalized from March to April 2024 were selected as the control group, and routine hospital infection control measures were taken.A total of 113 patients who were hospitalized from July to August were used as the intervention group. On the basis of routine hospital infection control, failure mode and effect analysis was used to conduct prospective early warning assessment of hospital infection management measures. The incidence of hospital infection and the implementation of hospital infection prevention and control measures were compared between the two groups, and 35-50 medical staff in the departments of the subjects in different intervention periods were randomly selected to evaluate and compare the implementation of hospital infection control measures. Results Except for the urinary system, the incidence of various types of hospital infection in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the implementation rate of various hospital infection prevention and control measures was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).During the intervention period, the implementation rate of various hospital infection control measures of the medical staff in the department where the patient was located was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion As a forward-looking risk assessment and early warning method, failure mode and effect analysis can effectively improve the effect of hospital infection prevention and control, and promote the more efficient and comprehensive implementation of management measures.
