Analysis of HIV antibody confirmatory results in Aksu region,Xinjiang,2017-2021
Objective To conduct a retrospective statistical analysis of HIV antibody confirmatory test results in Aksu region,Xinjiang,to provide scientific basis for the formulation of HIV prevention and control strategies in the region. Methods The samples to be confirmed were collected from screening laboratories of Aksu region from 2017-2021,reviewed by enzyme-linked immunoassay, and the positive samples were confirmed by western blot. Results Among the submitted samples of 4 246 cases for confirmation by screening laboratories,3 934 cases were HIV antibody positive, accounted for 92.6%,131 cases were negatives(3.1%),181 uncertainties(4.3%).Of the 3934 positive antibody confirmation, the ratio of male and female was 1.39∶1.The differences in HIV antibody positivity rate of samples by year(x2=50.563),ethnicity(x2=19.340),marital status(x2=40.327),education level(x2=24.322),source of sample(x2=256.884)and infection route(x2=50.780)were statistically significant(P<0.05).Among the various band types confirmed positive, the highest positivity rate was the env band, with gp160 accounted for 100.0%,followed by 99.7%for both pol band p66 and gag band p24,and the lowest rate of 95.5%for pol band p31.Conclusion HIV antibody confirmatory testing in Aksu region was dominated by 8 band types. It is should strengthen the standardized management and technical guidance of the AIDS network laboratories at all levels in the region,to improve the efficiency of early detection and treatment.
